Heists launched on March 10th, 2015 on Xbox 360, Xbox One, PS3 and PS4. Heists is also expected to be available day one of the PC release on April 14th, 2015.

Heists will bring a brand new 4-player cooperative gameplay experience to GTA Online, giving players the chance to team up to pull off a string of intense, multi-part raids and robberies across Los Santos and Blaine County. Over the next couple weeks, we will have more information about the launch of Heists and about other new features that will be released with it.

Multiplayer Heists

On December 16, 2014, Rockstar released a teaser trailer depicting many aspects of the long-promised GTA Online Heists. The same day, in an interview with IGN, Rockstar’s Imran Sawrar revealed a number of details about the new class of upcoming mission.

GTA Online Heists will launch with five multiplayer Heists, each of these will include tangential missions which must be simultaneously or subsequently accomplished by cooperating crew members. All Heists will require teamwork, and some will allow players to split up into smaller groups and then join back together to accomplish certain larger tasks.

Early preview material depicts Heists sections related to a prison break, fighters scrambling an aircraft carrier, a yacht pursued by jetskis and an assault helicopter, parachuting attackers, and other epic scenes.

Players interact with characters from GTA 5 Story Missions during Online Heists, including Lester.

Heist planning requires a high end apartment Property in GTA Online, as well as a leader who serves as organizer and a team of crooks to serve different mission roles. The planner risks some cash to front the initial expenses for the mission, but also earns the biggest payout on successful completion.

Single Player Heists

The five GTA 5 single-player Heists are The Jewel Store Job, The Merryweather Heist, The Paleto Score, The Bureau Raid and The Big Score.

Single player Heists are planned by Lester, with the player character making the important choices about Mission approach and Crew composition.

Heists are also promised for GTA Online, set release date is March 10, 2015. Online Heists are expected to allow Crews or groups of only friends to coordinate together and fulfill the multiple stages of a Heist through cooperation and coordination. Rockstar has confirmed that Heists will allow players to work together to accomplish the goals and will include in-game planning boards similar in style to those created by Lester in GTA 5.
