When you have to end your session, exiting via the Pause Menu or switching to Story Mode will save your progress and let your Friends and Crew members know you have left the game.
- Exiting by switching to Story Mode – either by fast switching or by using the Online > Leave GTA Online option – is the safest ways to turn your game off.
- DO NOT power off your console mid-session if you can avoid it.
- You can see the orange spinner indicating a save taking place – make sure you don’t power off your machine while this is spinning.
